Doors serve as both an invitation for friends to enter and security to keep enemies out. As the people of God, Jesus is that door for us. He stands as an invitation to the World to come to God. But he also stands as the door to keep intruders out. The world would like to think that coming to God can be on their terms, but Jesus is clear that He is the door through which all must come into salvation. Sometimes we think a closed door is only an obstacle to our happiness. When Jesus is our door, the opposite is true; our access and security in Jesus results in a truly abundant life.
